On Sunday 11 June (11am-4pm) Victoria Baths is hosting an Artisan Summer Fair, with around 50 stalls spread over two floors for visitors to discover. Local producers, craftspeople and artists will be selling a range of goods including artwork, crafts and specialty foods.
The Open Day is great opportunity to explore Victoria Baths and to discover the stories of one of Manchester’s grandest buildings, with guided tours taking place throughout the day. The darling of TV and film producers, you’ll find out more about the Baths’ appearances infront of the camera and there is even the chance to see some of the areas of the building not usually accessible to the public.
Bringing music to the occasion the Gallery Choir, named after Stockport Art Gallery where they rehearse, will be performing in the Gala Pool at 1pm and 2.30pm.
Visitors will also have a chance to see the framed original sketch that Liz Ackerley did of Victoria Baths’ high profile swim for restoration event, which will be put up for public auction to raise further funds.
The Tea Room will be open serving refreshments, including sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks.
Visitors attending the Open Day will be helping to support Victoria Baths quest for restoration, the next phase of which will focus upon the Turkish Baths.
Admission: £4 or £7 including guided tour. For further information visit: www.victoriabaths.org.uk
