Conservative Deputy Party Chairman hits the campaign trail on visit to Trafford
A leading politician was in Timperley to support Trafford Conservatives in the upcoming local elections.
James Cleverly, the Conservative’s Deputy Party Chairman spent last Tuesday with councillors and activists talking to local residents on the doorstep
He said: “Talking to people on the doorstep it is clear they are very proud of the area and love living here.
“Trafford has the fastest growing economy in Greater Manchester and has a thriving business community.
“What is true, both locally and nationally, is that a strong economy underpins well-funded public services. The investment that Trafford council has made in supporting businesses is paying dividends locally.
“It is clear that this election will be about who is best placed to deliver good quality and good value public services rather than national or international political issues, and that is how it should be. Conservatives in Trafford charge less but deliver more.
“For example, if you lived in Labour-run Stockport, you’d pay a whopping £350 more a year in the average household than in Trafford. Labour would take more of your money at the same time as posing the biggest risk to the excellent local schools and stop progress being made in the revival of local town centres. A strong Conservative council will work hard for you every day of the year – but it is only your vote on May 3rd that will secure that.”
