Murder Investigation launched in Rochdale
Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman was killed in Rochdale.
Shortly after 11.35pm on Sunday 22 October, police were called to an address on Birch Crescent in Newhey, Rochdale to reports that the body of a woman had been found.
Officers attended and discovered the body of a 39-year-old woman.
Enquiries are now ongoing into the circumstances surrounding her death, however police have launched a murder investigation.
Detective Superintendent Howard Millington from GMP’s Major Incident Team said: “Firstly, my thoughts go out to the woman and her family at this devastating time, I can’t imagine what they are going through right now.
“We have launched a murder investigation and are now searching for a man wanted in connection with the woman’s death.
“We are putting all our efforts into finding the man and would appeal for him to come and talk to police.
“We believe this to be an isolated incident and don’t believe there to be any wider danger to the public.”
