RBH carol singers bring festive fun

RBH employee volunteers warmed up both their vocal cords and the mulled wine as they spread Christmas cheer with a series of carol concerts across the Rochdale area.

Over 40 high-spirited and joyful carollers, split into three teams, visited 11 independent living schemes to entertain residents with carols, conversation, mulled wine and mince pies.
RBH volunteers, dressed in festive finery and belting out a range of carols and Christmas songs, received enthusiastic appreciation from their audience; who more often than not burst into song themselves. On some visits they were joined by RBH Members with equal enthusiasm.

The carollers made sure that each visit provided an exuberant, cheery and, above all, festive hour. At the conclusion of the singing, everyone shared a drink and stories about their own Christmas memories.

RBH and the residents also expressed their appreciation to Seddons for their donation of wine and mince pies.

Brian Lonergan, RBH Volunteering Co-ordinator, said: “The carol singing was a wonderful opportunity for RBH employees who don’t normally visit schemes to meet with our residents. As a Mutual Society we look to be more than just a landlord and days like this help to show that side of us.”

The carol singing visits are fast becoming a Christmas tradition for RBH and you can be sure that the golden throat volunteers will be back next year.
