11 of Greater Manchester’s best and brightest growing businesses were presented with awards for excellence at a Celebration of Success event yesterday.
Organised by business growth support provider Excelerate Labs and held in the Albert Square Chop House, the event identified some of the top businesses creating economic growth and job opportunities who have benefitted from the programme.
Among those celebrated were Manchester based We are invite picking up ‘Video Production Business of the Year’ having in just 5 years in business worked on projects across the UK and Europe and built a client base that boasts the likes of Muller and Talk Talk.
Construction Q founder Fiona Hull picked up an award for ‘Woman in Construction Business’ having worked on schemes ranging from £5,000 to £5mil, Fiona has grown her team and expanded offices over the last year.

“As a team it has been our great pleasure to work with these amazing Greater Manchester entrepreneurs over the last year. When a business is doing well it can become even more difficult to take time out to strategise for growth, but these business owners have all invested that time and are reaping the rewards as a result. This event was the first of its kind for our programme, and was an important step for us as we really wanted to shout about the brilliant work each of these businesses is doing and showcase that Greater Manchester really is a region open for business.”

Woman in Construction Business
Excelerate Labs is a programme offered free to Greater Manchester business owners working in a B2B sector, part funded by European Regional Development Fund. Led by enterprise support agency The Women’s Organisation, the programme works with male and female business leaders to strategise for business growth offering bespoke consultancy services. Each of those receiving awards were graduates of the programme and some of the true success stories.
