Officers from the City Of Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team have made an arrest in connection with a robbery on Sunday afternoon (25 June 2023).

From enquiries, it is believed that the victim was waiting at Exchange Square Metrolink when a group of males approached him. The victim, a 14 year old boy, was then pushed to the floor and assaulted, he sustained serious injuries which he needed hospital treatment for. The victim’s mobile phone was also stolen.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on bail pending further enquiry.

Detective Sergeant Mark Graham of GMP’s City of Manchester Central Neighbourhood crime Team, said: “We are working hard to bring about justice for the victim.

“We are investigating this incident and our team will do what we can to protect those in our community.

“This incident happened in a busy area of Manchester and there would have been numerous people stood on the platform at around 3pm on Sunday 25 June who may have seen something. I urge you to do the right thing and report any information that may help us with our investigation. .
