Bury Council is spending £525,000 to upgrade outdoor play facilities at multiple locations across the borough.
The investment will fund new play equipment and new safety surfacing at 14 play areas as well as refurbishment of a multi-use ball zone.
Benches, bins and gates will also be refreshed at each of the sites.
Work is already under way at the following locations.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “Ongoing investment into providing good quality, locally accessible play facilities is absolutely vital for our communities.
“Well maintained play areas help children to build their physical strength, fitness and co-ordination, they support their development and above all they provide safe places to have fun and interact socially with other children.
“I’m sure each and every one of these upgraded play facilities will be warmly welcomed by local families.”
The latest refurbishments follow £300k already invested at Boz Park ball zone plus play areas at Close Park, Manchester Road Park, Openshaw Park, St Mary’s Park, Whitefield Park, Goshen and Hawkshaw.
