Officers in north Manchester continue to appeal for information after a serious sexual assault in Harpurhey.

A man was attacked on Hendham Vale, Manchester on Monday 4 December 2023 at 8:15am.

A man in his 30s was previously arrested on suspicion of rape, he has since been eliminated from our enquiries and released with no further action.

Detective Inspector Michael Russell, of City of Manchester North district, said: “GMP treats incidents of this nature very seriously.

“We understand the concerns of the local community following this incident, and I would like to assure the public that we have increased the number of highly visible patrols in the area and have an investigation team who continue to work at pace to locate the male responsible.

“Specialist officers are supporting the victim at this time and whilst we are following up a number of leads we also continue to appeal to the public for any information that may be relevant to our enquiries.

“We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage relating to this incident.”
